Origami Fair at Jersey City Free Public Library

July 26, 2025

DeltaEarth sponsored three Climate Leaders Fellowship students to host an event at the Jersey City Free Public Library: Main Branch! They hosted an origami fair focused on endangered species conservation, featuring the Black Tern, Hawksbill Sea Turtle, and Northern Long-Eared Bat.

Children were taught how to fold origami animals while hearing about their unique stories, going over each animal’s lifespan, habitat, and any dangers they face from human activities. Once the children finished folding their origami, they each received a sticker to reward their accomplishments, as well as a pamphlet on “Taking Care of Your Origami Animal” that featured methods humans can take to conserve endangered species on the back.
